So today I was on my way to climb and ran by the gas station. Came out and car wouldnt start. Click Click. Jumped it and ran to climb. Jumped it after climbing and then went home and cleaned the connections on the battery for an hour. Started right up and it worked for the next 7 hrs. Left a friends house a lil bit ago, got in the car. No dash lights or anything. No click. So tried to jump it and nothing. I couldn't believe it.

So what do you think it is. I hit the starter and still no start. I wasnt getting any power, obviously, from having no lights on on the dash. Dead battery? But no click either, so is that the starter?

I'm clueless and not looking to putting in too much more money into her. Thanks for the help.

Dead battery or a draw draining your battery. Make sure you didn't leave any electrical accessories on. Get your charging system checked out. That should check your battery condition, charging system output, starter draw and confirm if any parasitic draws are present.

You may want to check your main wiring. A few months ago, my '90 4Runner would cut off when I would take a corner kind of fast. The radio, lights, engine everything would go off. As soon as I would coast through the rest of the curve and straighten out, my truck would come back to life. It was the weirdest thing. Turns out that since I didn't have a battery tie down, my batter was sliding around a bit when I took a turn fast. This made my main battery cable rub against the power steering pulley. Over time, the insulation and plastic covering on the cable had worn down and it got to where bare wires were grounding out on my PS pulley whenever I took a turn fast. So, you may want to check your wires to make sure it isn't grounding out on anything.

BTW--Not sure if your in Concord yet, but maybe we could get together and we could look at it. I'm by no means an electrical expert (actually I know very little), but usually two heads are better than one!

I got home from work one evening and the truck did the little shake as I turned off the key. Funny thing . . . . everything went dead. I called my buddy and he said, "Always start with the battery connections." Sure enough, my 14 year old positive cable had broken off inside the cable housing. You couldn't tell looking at it from the outside. It was an easy fix thanks to my world class rally mechanic buddy!
