89 4runner sitting for 3 years

A while back I noticed a light blue sr5 v6 possibly 88 or 89 runner sitting in a driveway around the corner from my brothers house that looked to be in good shape, I realized after a while that it was sitting not being used and approached the owner. He called me yesterday and wants me to come look and make an offer. He has two other vehicles and I believe he lives by himself. He told me he bought it when it was about six years old and about 3years ago he parked it, got a new car, and forgot about it, it has not been cranked since. He says there was nothing wrong with it, he just wanted something with better gas mileage. Well, it has about three years worth of tree sap on it, the rear passengerside is sagging and a dent in front of the drivers side door from an opened door backed into something, you know, an over extension.
Sorry about the rambling, here is my point. Since it has been sitting for so long I don't want to crank it with the gas it has in the tank, I would want to siphon whatever is in the tank. Is there any way that is not to difficult to hook up an external fuel source. Also would it be ok to spray some starter fluid in the intake. What other things should I think of.
Thanks

put some light oil in the cylinders as it would be bone dry now.

I just had to put a new gas tank in a 86 MR2 that had sat for 4-5 years. The tank has rusted as well as the pump and sending unit. The worst smell I have ever smelt in my life. Put some PB blaster in the cyl and it started right up.

there should be a drain plug under the skip plate. get some good fresh fuel and some fuel cleaner (BG 44k if you can find it). lub them up and give it a crank.

Man I wish i was there, I love playing with old toyotas!
