87 Pickup Fuel Filter

Does anyone have any diagrams or know where the location for the fuel filter on an 87 yota 2wd 1/2ton pickup is? I am getting some crummy gas mileage so wanted to replace the thing... if i can find it that is...

No diagrams... sorry. If you look to the left of your oil filter through the wheel well, it's right there. 4WD has a plate you can remove to doem', 2WD doesn't... Might be easier to get it from the bottom. PIA to change it, and use the little gaskets that come w/ new filter.

Thanks! Already changed it out...When i was under the truck i noticed transmission fluid all over the bottom of the the pan... It seems that there are 2 bolts missing from my pan or that they have been snapped off... i think they have been snapped.... Anyone know how much this will cost to replace?

I believe those bolts are 10mm or maybe 8mm. Might be pretty hard to use an "easy out" on them. Might have to drill and tap. As for cost

I'll take that shaking head as not a good sign on cost.... My girlfriend's dad works at a garage... He is one of the guys that does office work and tells the people how much things are going to be etc. I talked to him and he said that they will have to look at it so i will take it in this afternoon.. It is sitting in the parking lot of school right now dripping who knows how much fluid out... Only hope it doesn't fully drain and i can make it to the place. I think i will be able to get a good price since he made the hint that it might not cost me anything at all. We shall see this afternoon.

Well, if it hasn't leaked out everything yet, I wouldn't think it would now. Just check your fluid level and if its low add some more in.
