87 4Runner No Brakes
Hello all, and thanks for taking a minute to check this out. I recently replaced the ENTIRE braking system on my 87 runner. Rotors, Calipers, Pads, Booster, MC, Rear Wheel Cylinders, LSPV and Lines. Problem I have now is I have no brakes. I mean NONE! I have bled the system numerous times, did the new part installs per directions, i.e. bench bled master cylinder and all. But I get nothing. I've used vacum bleeders, and the old tried and true method of having someone pump as I break the bleeder. I'm going on three weeks now without a truck and the wife is gettin' a bit upset. I really don't want to have to take it to a brake shop so I'm hoping for some helpful hints from the YotaTech folks. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

This may be totally off the mark for a Toy, but I've got extensive wrenching time on my VW, and I've heard many times where people replaced the MC and then had no brakes afterward. In those cases, when the MC was installed the person forgot to line up the brake rod with the plunger on the MC.
Like I said, I don't know if this is even possible on a runner.

Thanks for the response
and per the Haynes manual the booster push rod must be between 24 and 26 thousands from the plunger on the MC. And after taking a ride with my friend to his machine shop to get a drop indicator it now is. Still no work. Thanks for trying though....any info is a step closer to a solution i hope.

I just went through something very similar with my 88 and it was a bad master cylinder. As in the new one I was putting in was bad. We went back to the old and i got brakes. although the old was bad also it was nothing like the new one. And yes the new one bench bled as well but wouldn't work on the truck.
