This is a mystery to me. I pulled the front tires off the 99' 4Runner to replace the pads, because usually after 65+k miles you expect it is time to change them out. But no...the pads are still at least 3/4ths there. Not what I expected at all. The discs are also not grooved at all. I see very little wear on the discs also after comparing them to the inside factory surface that is not in contact with the pads.

Either I am very impressed by the wear or my rear drums are taking up more of the load than expected.

I have new Autozone Ceramic pads for it...now I just have to hang onto them.

I've got 130k on mine with the original brakes! I haven't adjusted the rear brakes since my lift, so the front has been doing the most work for about 30k. I'd say you're about half way to the point of replacement if you drive it easy.

yota brakes = bulletproof, i had mine changed at 100k miles...

I have experienced that myself... the pads didn't wear out, the rotors did. Well the pads eventually wore out, but the rotors were toast by then. I wouldn't be surprised if by the time the pads go the rotors warp. If not though, cool, you good your use out of your pads.

Yeah, I just replaced my rotors and pads (PF pads) because my rotors were warped. The stock pads had about 50% left and I have 80K miles. Pretty amazing considering Exploders eat pads every 20K on average.

My original taco pads only lasted about 55-60k, i guess i drive it a little hard on these country roads around here but i still have the original shoes, (which are getting down there)
