6 cyl missfire (a little long)

Hey guys, I was hoping some of you guys might be able to help. I have a 97 4 runner with the 3.4L just 2wd with 81K miles. I recently got a missfire in cyl 6 code with everything that comes along with it.

I pulled the coils/plugs today and noticed that the top of cyl 2 plug has 2 burn marks where the lead in the coil touches the plug. In cyl 6 which shares the same coil, has a brown build up on the non firing end of the plug, around the seal spot and on the white part of plug (excuse my lack of technical terms).

I want to assume its the coil itself thats cause this problem, but wouldn't I be getting a misfire in 2 cylinders instead of just the one?

A bit of stupidity could have caused this as I drove through a lot of pretty deep puddles (3 to 8 inches deep) while we had a lot of rain last weekend. It didn't start misfiring until about 4 days later. The other day when I started it up and went to work it ran fine, no misfire at all, then at lunch that same day it started missing again.

Any advice? Thoughts?

Take care,
Branden
