5spd Tranny oil - Recommendations

Hi all,

I'm replacing my clutch in the next couple of days and thought it would a good time to replace my tranny oil.
Please let me know what transmission oil is best for our trannys.

TIA,

maguirre

how much heavy duty wheeling?

i do enough "hardcore" wheeling (in water, mud etc) that i change mine frequently enough that i cant justify the cost of the MT-90.... therefore for me

Amsoil 75W-90 Series 2000. I change it about every 18-20 mths. Still shifts smooth as glass.

I am also using a amsoil product. Some sorta special manual transmission oil. I forget what its called. But it comes in a clear plastic bottle and its a brownish color.

I also use Amsoil motor oil for both my 4runner and my supra. But for my supra's 6spd manual tranny it is very important that we use the Genuine Toyota stuff (V160), which cost about $50 for 2 liters. So I was expecting you guys to recommend Toyota's gear oil for my truck. Now I'm debating if I should buy Redline's MT-90 or Amsoil's Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube.
I'll stop at my local AutoZone after work, and if I find Redline gear oil that's what I'll go with, cause for Amsoil... it'll my take about a week for the oil to arrive.

thxs,

maguirre
