4wd conversion on removeable top 4runner
hey everyone,
i've been reading lots of posts about 4wd conversions on the site here. I have a few quesitons still.
The reason i'm wondering, is because I have a 82 solid axle that is fairly built (tires/springs/gears/lockers) but the engine and frame are getting old and tired.
If i bought an 86-89 2wd 4runner for cheap (there are some around I've seen for a great deal) would the swap be fairly straight forward?
I want to stick with solid axle, so I would rip off all the ifs parts.
weld on some spring perches, float the axle, swap tranny and transfer case.
is that about all I would need for the swap?
thanks in advance!
