4th Gen Alternator
Hey all, got a question for you. I don't know if any of you have removed or replaced you stock alternators yet, but maybe you can help. I got a 160 amp from Tom and had to get a new 3-pronged oval connection plug to replace the 4-pronged square stock plug. So, I know I should have written this down, and I would look @ my staock alternator, but I am in MT and my stock one is WA. I need to know what color wire corresponds to its function. This is on the alternator in a diagram next to the square plug. I know that red/yellow is the IG, but am not sure what is the S and L...I think that is what the others are. Any help or info would be great. And also, is the 4 gauge black wire that runs from the circular connection on the alternator to the battery soley a source of power, or does it connect elsewhere? Thanks again.
