if you are asking for an electric brake for your trailer.. I would suggest the Tekonisha Prodidgy... I have one on my Pop up and it does the job.

Thanks.. I'm guessing the 2000 4Runners do NOT have pre-wiring for a trailer brake system. So I guess it'll need to be wired manually. Any thoughts? Did Toyota start pre-wiring on the >2002 models? Any one have experience with wiring one of these on a 4Runner?

Thanks

I second the suggestion of the Teckonsha Prodigy. Buy it online and save 60-8- bucks. http://www.rvwholesalers.com/ is where I got mine.

I dig Mine...
The local camper place tried to talk me out of it.. "most of the 5th wheels use these it would be overkill for the Pop up"
Rubbish i thought. I went to some of the trailer sites and looked up what people thought of the brake almost all of the people i spoke to said get one.
So i did. I have never looked back.. it's a great controller... The best. and thats NOT"in my own opinion" it's EVERYONES opinion.

Did you not have the harness????? My truck came with a harness. It took me all of 15 minutes to crimp the 4 wires together and mount it under my dash. I too am running the prodigy and love it.

What year is yours? Mine is a 2000 Limited, it came with the so called tow package. I hope it's wired with some sort of harness to the back of the truck, but I guess it's doubtful.
