4Runner start problem
Hi everyone, first post here, what a great site!
Some background. Up until recently I've been only (mechanically ) involved with my bimmer since the 4Runner just keeps going with almost no issues to report. It now has about 115K miles on it and since it's mostly my wife's car, I decided not to risk it and during the New Year weekend went in and replaced the timing belt, water pump, pulleys, cam seals along with all the fluids.
After the replacement the car was running great, had no issues at all. Last night we were coming back from the skiing trip, made it almost all the way back home, and I decided to refuel it as it had slightly less then the last quarter left in it. I pull up to the pump, shut off, refuel, but when I went to restart it again, I noticed the RPM was just slightly above 0, barely running. Not knowing what to do, I gave it some gas and the engine died. I then tried to restart it, that time it did not start at all. I waited a few seconds with the key completely off, then tried again and it started as normal like there was no problem at all... No CEL or other lights on the dash. Any ideas? Fuel pump?
The car in question: 2000 4Runner SR5 4WD
Thanks guys!

I'd wait to see if it keeps happening before thinking there's a definite problem. Could have just been a fluke thing. I've had my runner for about 3.5 years and one time a few months ago when I started it, it sputtered and spit for several seconds before smoothing out. Never did it since.
You could go over all your sensor connections that you messed with during the T belt change just to make sure they are fully plugged in. At this point I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps happening.

Yeah, thanks, might have been a fluke. Although this was the first time it ever happened and we own it since new. It's also a bit concerning to me that it happened a week after the T-belt replacement, probably just a coincidence. I'll keep an eye out
