4Runner in magazine, great pics....

Just curious if anyone else had picked up the most recent copy of 4wheelers and sport utility vehicle magazine (I think thats the title?). They've got several pics of hardcore 4runners. This magazine consistently gives toyota alot of coverage, as Corey has mentioned in the past. I'm considering a subscription.

I signed up for a few free issues, and all I saw in the mag was Jeeps. I remember seeing 1 Toyota. I guess I signed up at the wrong time.

I hear ya Kevin. I was driving home and was behind this sweet 2003? 4runner that had been modded a bit. The guy pulled into the other lane, and as I was driving past him, he gave me the big thumbs up and smile. I was feeling pretty cool. If we can ever get those stickers out, that'll help too. Business cards are a definite. Might try to hit a print shop this weekend.

Business cards are simple to do yourself with a computer. Buy the cards at Office Depot or something, design them and print them yourself for under $10. I did some to put on nice rigs I see around town, being we have the University and all, they have the yotatech logo, like above, and then it just says that it is a good site for folks who love their Tacomas, Tundras, Land Cruisers and 4Runners. I give them my member name and invite them to come. I try not to be a stalker in doing it, just leave it in the door moulding on the driver's side so they see it and get it.

On a side note... I went to the site looking for the article, and I saw they reviewed the new Firestone Destination MTs. If someone has the mag, or can find the review online (I couldn't), I'd love to know what they thought of the tire.

I have that copy of the mag at home, and from what I remember, they gave the tires pretty high ratings. The article is relatively short, so a person could read it quickly at the news stand in the grocery store without having to buy the mag, but its only a few dollars...They mentioned that it uses the uni-t technology, like other bridgestone and firestone tires, expected long life on lighter vehicles, reinforced sidewalls, and relatively quiet on the road. For my own curiousity, I asked the Firestone dealer about them afer I read the article, and he said that he's gotten a lot of really good feedback from people he sold the tires to. He said that the local forest service trucks were using the Dueler M/Ts and have now all switched over to the Destination MTs, because they like 'em that much more, and have had a lot better luck in regards to fewer sidewall tears, longer life and less road noise. Again, this is all from a sales rep, not my opinion. Based on this, I would give them a try, if the price was right...I'm close to a good bridgestone/firestone rep, and have been very happy with my Dueler AT's...

Something else to think about though, is that they are'nt available in 32-11.5-15, you'd have to get 265/75/16's, if you still want a 32...don't remember what you decided after your other threads a while back.

Sorry for the brief hi-jack...

Just an FYI, the link that Brian posted was for last month's issue. This month, there isn't a specific vehicle that is featured, but a trail ride that is written up, with about 3 or more toyota's pictured.

David,

That article was the only thing I found on Yotas.

The website is too hard to navigate so do you have a link of the article you are talking about?

Thanks!

Brian,

It doesn't look like they've put up pics from the newest article, maybe so that people will go out and buy the magazine? I agree though, it was hard to find jack with the way it was setup.

yeah david they make things that you can get at office depot. its like a page of business cards and they have perferated edges so you can just tear them apart after you print them. i just need you to come up with a cool design, since im really bad at that for some reason.

If it says "shevota" its probably because the plate "chevota" was already taken. People who use that name typically have a big part of their rig Chevy i.e. the motor. Just a FYI.

Kevy...

Is that Shevota at the UW? Is it dark blue? If so I've admired it a number of times at U-village. I think he runs with a bunch of jeeps, b/c whenever I saw it down there it was parked near a bunch of modded jeeps.
