Since we have no idea what year you're 4Runner is, or what size wheels you're running, then no we can't help you. You should add the details of your vehicle in your signature for all to see.

The Tundra brake upgrade has been covered many times before here. As much as we don't like the whole "spoon feeding" thing, since it's your first post, you can start with this, then search for "Tundra Brake" to get even more info.

Welcome to Yotatech.

That was much nicer than I was expecting and I think you did the right thing by posting the link. Pretty cool in my book.

It's 199mm vs 231mm, and again, it depends on which wheels you have (not just size dependant). Since I doubt that you've had time to read all 6 pages in that thread so far in the 9 minutes since I posted the link, I'll give you a bit more time to read through the thread to get your answer. Here's a hint... do you have stock steel wheels, stock alloy wheels, or aftermarket wheels?

As you will see in one of my posts near the end of the thread, the 231mm fits the stock steel wheels on my 2002 with no modification, but I can't fit my stock 16" spare wheel over the caliper. It means if I get a flat on the front, I have to put one of the rear wheels up front, and the spare on the rear.

Stock 16" alloy wheels will fit the 231mm calipers with a bit of grinding on the wheels.

Aftermarket wheels are anybody's guess. If you're unsure, go with the 199mm for the best chance at fitting without modifications.

meh... I'm in a relatively good mood today... which is surprising, since I managed to "find" the bundle of store sale flyers that was buried in snow in the middle of my driveway at 8:00 last night... with my snowblower! It took me 45 minutes to dig out the flyers piece by piece to get the impeller free. Stupid flyer delivery guy...

Not really much upgrade for the rear brakes, aside from a better pad or spending $$$$

You really need to spend time reading the links, and do a search on the site for brake upgrades. There is a lot of information out there. You can also try 4runners.org I believe Bob has his upgrade listed on there.

The best "upgrade" (without spending mucho cash for a disk conversion) you can do to your rear brakes is keep them well cleaned, lubed, and adjusted.
