4 cyl axle housing integrity issues

I have a quick question. is there a strenght difference in a 4 cyl rear third member with gears, and a v6 third member with gears

the main strength difference is in the carrier. V6 third members have stronger carriers.

But for practical purposes it make little difference. Both are very strong.

What years? I believe for Tacos there are few differences in strength, between the 8" elocker and "8.5" open diff.

the main weak spot on the 4cyl carrier is the ring gear mounting surface. it's very thin compared to a lot of other carriers...however my problem seems to be R&P, not the carrier itself
