4.10 in front and 4.30 in rear?
I am currently running 4.10 in front and 4.30 in the rear with the E locker so far no problems I don't think the gear spread between the two is big enough to mess anything up. I talked to to a guy who does gears and he said it shouldn't be any problem and he would be suprised if I noticed any difference. For those of you who know gears tell me what you think am I going to break anything?

not a good idea. why don't you just trade front diffs with the guy you got the third member from? then you'll be set up completely and it's not that hard to swap.

That's what I'm going to do we are setting up a date to swap out front diffs so I will be running 4.30 front and rear and he will be running my old 4.10 front and rear. Thanks for all your help guys!

A 4:10 vs a 4:11 speard is OK, but a 4:10 and a 4:30 is way too much. I actually installed a new rear diff in a 86 truck, Ordered it by the axle code which said it was a 4:30 and after installing it, drove it and shifted to 4WD on dry pavement (it was the A340H trans/transfer) and the rear end squatted right down until I shifted it into 2WD. The axle code netted me the wrong ratio, turns out it was a 4:10. I suppose in slick off roading, your going to be OK, otherwise, you will be in trouble. Fis it as soon as you can.

Roger that. That's why I did an e-locker swap as well. It was worth the pain of the swap to be able to "glide" over whooptie do's instead of rocking back and forth and flinging large amounts of dirt and tire chunks into the lower atmosphere without going anywhere.
