whats up guys. I have/had an 92 sr5 ext cab v6 which got totalled due to an accident and ive been trying to figure out what to do with the truck. I dont want to spend 5 grand on the body work so i figured i could swap out my new engine into a different truck. Ive found a couple in my area so far there is an 85 pu, 87 4runner, and an 89 4runner. I would really like to swap my v6 into the 85 but was wondering how much trouble if any it would be, where i could get the parts to do it, etc. Or would it just be easier to swap it into the 89? Ive been searching for the same year truck for some time now and cant seem to find one, these are the closest ive come to so far. Any feedback or insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

As for 'same year' truck, the same years are 89 thru 95 (preTaco.) Any will work, same -or-same. 4Runners too.

The 85 PU or Runner, 86 and 89 Runners will give you the same challenges - they all have the same engine mounts, trans mounts, frame setups, etc (assuming 4cyls) as far as engine installation goes. If the new truck isn't a 3.0 then you simply need your mounts from your wrecked truck, along with the radiator and stuff. The harder part is the wiring.
