I'm pretty sure that the oem alloy wheels for the 3rd gen 4Runner have an offset of +15mm. There were several designs but the offset remained +15mm for model years 1996 to 2002. You can verify it by removing one wheel and looking at the back of the wheel. I believe the size and offset is stamped on one of the spokes or on the wheel hub.

Yes, newer oem wheels after the 2002 MY 4Runner have a numerically bigger offset, meaning, the wheel centerline is closer to the UCA.

The TRDParts4U website says the alloy wheel size of your choice is 16"x7.5" with a +10mm offset. So when compared to your 2002 4Runner oem alloy wheels, the TRD wheels will move the wheel centerline away from the hub by 5mm and therefore will NOT cause a P265/70R16 tire to rub with the UCA.

My dealer told me the offset on the OEM 16" wheels is 35mm which would mean there is almost a 1" difference in offset -- and as 4TARD said, some of the newer OEM wheels are 30mm offset and that might cause 'A Arm Rubbing'. Are my wheels in that category?

My truck is the last year of GEN3 (2002) and the Limited wheels were 16". I know, I am preaching to the quire here and I am not implying in any way that you do not know this. Heck, you guys know a heck of a lot more than I do -- I just want to be sure.

These are the wheels I want to install but I don't want to have a restriction in range of movement or have to use spacers -- been there done that. This is a lot of money for me to spend so I just want to be absolutely sure I won't have a problem.

TRD FJ Beadlock

I finally have the TRD FJ TRD FJ Off-Road 16” wheels with bead-lock rings installed with Continental 265 R70 16 Cross Contact X20 tires. I am very happy with my decision going with the gray wheels instead of black. The only complaint I had was that water would puddle behind the rings and would not drain. I called TRD Parts4U and discussed the problem with them. The knew about it and said most owners either towel up the puddles or use compressed air. Really! I found what I think is the best solution. I purchased 5/16 nylon washers from Lowes (mfg Hillman) and used them between the ring and the wheel. The pan head torx bolts still have ample purchase to keep the rings secure.
