3rd Gen gas smell when cold started

3.4L
When I start it in the morning, it smells of unburned fuel pretty bad.
It really just does it when its cold.

Now, I realize that the ECU gives it extra fuel when its cold, but should it really have a strong fuel smell like this? Is it dumping too much in?

If it's a problem Id like to have it fixed, but I dont know if it is.

Thx!

Mine is the same way. I guess b/c the engine is not warmed up that it can not burn all the fuel it is dumping in. Since the engine revs higher when it is just started, maybe that is all it is.

How long has it been doing this?

I dont really know.
I noticed it this winter when starting it in the garage.

I've only owned it for a year though, so I cant say for sure.

I would say its normal. As long as the smell goes away when its warm, you are probably ok.
