33x10.50x15 or 285/75/16

33x10.50x15 or 285/75/16
I'm thinking of going to 33's. I have 15" wheels now with 32x11.50x15's. I'm debating over whether to buy 16" wheels and go with 285's or just get 33x10.50's for my current wheels.
I just wanted to hear everyone's opinion on each option. I'm leaning more towards the 33x10.50's now b/c it is easier and cheaper and there will be no issue with rubbage on the a-arm.
I have 285's now on my Z-71 and they are super heavy, it seems like a lighter 33x10.50 might be a little better, even though it is slightly shorter and narrower.
So, opinions?

I would go wider...I have 10.50's right now and I am DIEING to go wider, just seems like you would get more traction and I'm not sure how a 10.50 33" tire would look...I dunno, I'm just blabberin.
I would go wider though...wasn't it an old Pontiac advertisement, "Wider is Better"

I have "5" BFG KM MT's I will be getting rid of in a couple of months. Four of the tires have 4000 miles the other is a new spare. I will be upgrading to 35's with my SAS. Let me know if you are interested. Check em out.

I had 32's before I changed gears, but now with the 4.30's and a 5spd, I run about 3150 rpm at 78 mph, I would like to lower that rpm number a tad, 33's should do that.

I have 33x10.50 BFG AT kos and like them a lot. That was an upgrade from some small metric size that came on the 4RUNNER when I got it. It is the 31x10.50 tire package but the guy must have been strapped for cash. Anyway, I love those tires. For the off-roading and snow driving I do the ability to dig down to the "terra firmer" Is better than floatation. I perfer the looks of a 33x12.50 but mine are cheeper and work great for me and as stated, are better street tires. (Just gotta look out for those bottemless midwestern mud pits) Also, nearly all the cool off-road wheels are a 15'' size. It is up to you but I would get the 33x10.50s and save up for some other things. Afterall, if you think you made the wrong choice, tires wear out and you can get new ones.

The tires are great. No plugs or patches. Not cupped, but have some off-road rash. $300 for all five. I am planning on 35" MTR's, but really want the Krawlers.

If you are considering buying new wheels so you can run 285s, have you given any thought to buying new wheels and running 33/12.5-15s? You'll need to get the correct back spacing to push the tires away from the a-arms, but...
This is what I'm hoping to do in the spring.
