33 inch spare under 2nd gen runner
I bought a 33x9.5 BFG M/T today for a spare thinking it would fit easily. I removed the metal bars that held the 31 in place.
The tire goes right up, but I can only lower my tailgate part way down.
I recently had a custom bumper made, and had to cut the bars that make the tailgate easier to open, but I dont think that makes any difference.
How did it work for you guys??

Was that a new or used bfg mud? If new, I thought they weren't making them anymore, that's why I went with an AT.
Anyway, I kept the cradle thingy and ended up using my foot to bend the front passenger side prong a little. Then I deflated my tire and stuffed it in there. Seems to be ok, no tailgate problems.

Thanks Robinhood--that is kinda what I was thinking about. I think i may cut 1 of the cradle things in half, so I can put them in the back.
The tire I got is a very used M/T

when i went to buy some m/t's last month, they said they were on back order, they never told me that they were no longer producing them, they just needed to start making a new batch.
