Hey guys. I was just wanting to get some 32" tires on my 91 4runner, and I was considering a 1" body lift. i was originally going to get a 2" or 3" lift, but it turned me away when corey brought up all the other things that have to be done when you lift it that high.

So my question is, does anybody suggest that i get a body lift with 32" tires? Or can i fit them on, and will it look good, with no lift at all?

Also... is it really hard to install a body lift if you have really, REALLY basic knowledge of a truck... and the procedures that need to be followed. Or should I most definitely get it professionally done?

I have read many post on this back in 4x4wire and the verdict was that 32" would not fit the front. They will make contact with the fenders in a full radius turn.

I've been running 31"x10.5" Tires on my '91 4Runner since a few weeks after I bought it, and there has been enough room in there (even before my lift) to fit 32". I'd say that with a 1" Body Lift they should fit without a problem, it mainly depends on what width you get. I mean they'll definitely rub if you get 12.5" width tires, but if you get 10.5" (Not sure if 32"s come in this size or not) or maybe even 11" you shouldn't have any rubbing problems.

I personally would avoid the body lift, simply because I'm not a fan of how the body lifts look, and I'd rather spend the extra money for a suspension lift. Since you have a '91 you may want to look into the Downey HD Rear Coils (Gives you roughly 2" lift in the rear) and then crank the torsion bars to level it out. That's what I did with my 4Runner (I actually swapped the stock t-bars for a set of Sway-A-Ways because I may get an ARB in the future.) and I could easily clear 32" tires on it now.

Ummmm.. Gee I just had a big post going about 32's on my 92. They fit perfect. I have full suspension travel and flex turn to trun without hitting..(while stuffed or not) and they are MT's..

I have not lifted, tweeked or added anything.. I do think I will add a 1" body lift later on to give me a little more room (I will be doing the lo-pro stops and that may push it over the edge)

When I had my black 95 which I no longer have...the first thing I did was put 32" BFG A/T's on there. I never had any rubbing.

My 32's fit fine and my front suspension isn't raised at all. I get very slight rubbing at full lock and reversing.

i dont have a runner, but i have 32's with no problem on the 83. and i have like 3in backspacing, with 10in rims, they stick out 4 inches farther than my 31's and they are only an inch wider tire. i had a little rubbage from the mudflaps when at full lock and stuff, but i fixed that up real good.

Yea, but the 1st gen rig is diffrent for clearance..

I've got a 1989 PU with 32s, They fit but do give you slight rubbing in the front at full steer. Kind of a minor annoyance. You might want to consider a lift.
