3 Pics .... Two Questions

This x-mas vacation, on the way back home from North Carolina, my Flip Down monitor all of a sudden started displaying this white strip on the left side of the picture. It sometimes gets lighter, but i dont know what it is. What i do know, though, is that it is not the LCD gone bad, because it sometimes goes away slightly (kind of like a bad connection, but i think ive checked them all).

My next question is about the little rubber gasket inbetween the plastic front valence and the metal bumper on the 3rd gens. I need to replace it, but the parts lists arent showing it. Does anyone know if the gasket that goes inbetween the side moudlings (where your foot normally hits as you get in car) is the same? Thanks

I say the monitor is dying on you. Why do you HAVE to replace that rubber seal?

Because the one that is on now has been painted over and i need to buy a new one (they come green already) to stop the little paint chips that come off of it.
