3.5Gen OEM Fog Lights; Hella 500s

Can someone get me a pic of how these are mounted? I need to see how theyre mounted, and what the bracket looks like.

Also, the bulbs in my Hella 500s blew (both of them, 1 minute apart), and I replaced them today. Used Sylvania 100W H3 Bulbs. But, I get flickering now. WTH?

instead of pleading with the community here, if you'd search and read a bit, you'd realize that, next to lift and tire questions, there are about probably over 10 pages worth of hella 500 threads (fog and driving lights). in fact, i did exactly that and improved on some aspects of two other writeups on the same topic. and the very question you ask re mounting and 100w bulbs vs 55w bulbs was answered (iirc) in at least 4 threads.

bottom line: if you were a noob, i'd guide ya, but you are not. youve been here long enough to know to search first and then ask questions later.

now git to it!

SORRY FOR THE HUGE PIC__it is old
here is what the factory fog and bracket look like

I would be careful putting anything more than 55w in the factory fogs. I think some people had issued with burbing the lens or discloring it

I dont have factory fogs, and cant afford them. Att he same time, I cant find replacement plugs for the holes. I got a cheap-o pair from walmart, and am going to fab some brackets for them. I just need to see the OEM ones to get an idea of how theyre mounted.

8 10mm bolts holding them on. Wear safety glasses when getting the bolts off or you will get rust in your eyes and believe me it ain't fun. Be careful not to cross thread them when putting them bolts back in. Don't ask me why i know this

Can you take pics of your mounts? I just drilled holes into my valence and used flat metal peices for stability and it turned out like crap. Now I got 2 holes in my valance and the empty spots where my fog lights used to be.

Sure Ill take a pic of it later.

Its basically a piece os thick sheetmetal (I think 12G), cut to fit the curve of hte metal bumper, has 2 bolt holes to go into the 2 bolts the OEM lights bolt to. Then, there is a piece of angle iron in the back going across, and 1 going up to the little tab up above, which would be the third place the OEM lights attach to.

Thins is for a 99-02 tho, because they have the holes in the bumpers for lights.
