3.4L warm start stall

Hey guys,
I recently purchased a 2000 Tacoma with the 3.4L. I bought it knowing about a couple issues because the price was right and the truck itself is very very clean. (I made a post about it a couple days ago. It's got 240k miles on the clock ().

Please forgive me if this is a repetitive question, but I have zero experiance with these and may just not be using the search function efficiently.

When the truck is cold, it starts and runs like normal. however, when the engine temperature is warm, it will fire, and then settle down into a very low idle and after 3-4 seconds it will stall. It fires every time, but will stall. If I give it a bit of gas it will stay running and seems normal. It's not rough or anything. However, if I take my foot off the gas, it will stall. Now if I drive it even a few seconds, the problem seems to go away and it idles normally. Again however, if I turn the ignition off and then start it right back up, it will stall.

It does have 2 codes. One is for insufficient coolant temperature and the other I can't remember off the top of my head but it did have something to do with idle, it was an intermittent code though. I'll look it up and report back when I get home.

It runs normally as far as I can tell. I can't tell a noticeable loss in power or anything like that, but again, I don't have any prior experiance with these to tell. I would venture to guess it is tied with the CELs somehow. Any ideas? I know there's bound to be numorous things to check. I did change the plugs last night but it hasn't made any noticeable difference.

Really? Just hit it with some carb cleaner or something? I'd be happy as a pig in if it's that easy.

Yeah I just got done reading some stuff about that. I'm going to go get some of that today. I think I'll clean the IAC valve and throttle body as well. Can't hurt

You mean the IAC valve? Yep, I had that problem with my V6 Camry 1MZ-FE. Took the IAC and throttle body out of the car and cleaned it and solved my problem. Wouldn't hurt to clean the MAF too.

Ok, got it all done last night. I cleaned the MAF and IAC valve. The IAC was really dirty. It was pretty sticky. After I cleaned everything and put it back together, I started it and the truck idled at about 2000 rpms. After it warmed up a bit it started surging from about 1000 to 2000 rpm. It seemed like with time it started to settle down. By the time I got to work this morning, it seemed almost completely normal. I can only assume this is just the ECU relearning that everything works correctly now.
