3.4L V6 (5VZ-FE) Swap into my '92 3.0L (3VZ-E)w/ 5 Speed manual tranny

Hello all,

I wish to inquire about your thoughts about the subject above.
Any one who tried this project could tell us his experience w/ thanks.

Any electrical areas to watch for? How about teh wiring Harness?
oil Pan fit,

I know that the front 4X4 shaft is in the right (passenger) while the collecter exhaust pipe comes from the left side in the 3VZ-FE which is the opposite of the Tacoma 3.4L location of the front shaft (goes from left-driver side)and the exhast pipe is in the passenger side (right)...
Thanks all
Zak... windancer4x4@yahoo.com

Try these guys for the harness.

I think a T100 oil pan is needed. Reroute fuel line and some exhaust mods also.

I think a 1" body lift minimum is needed for clearance.

I've heard that you can reuse your 3.0 oil pan, windage tray, and oil pump pickup. I believe if you find a bellhousing for a 3.4 with its slave cylinder and hydraulic plumbing you won't have as many interferance problems on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Most guys route the exhaust on the passenger side and at some point have it come across back to the driver's side to the original exhaust. I wonder if 3.0 headers would bolt to the 5vze and allow the exhaust to stay on the driver side?

Someone said a 2" body lift was necesary but all the previous info is 1" is enough. This will also help with exhaust room. Perhaps a 1.5" is a better compromise than 2"? Also - has anyone looked on the front of the 5vze to see if the 3.0 accessories can be used. I'd love to see the serpentine in there but that would lead to a lot of rerouting of lines - power steering, A/C, etc.

As it is you'll have to move your fuel line but I think a shop can a shop that does hydraulic lines can fab that up.
