3.0L Engine "Drag"

I have a 3.0L in my 4Runner that has started dragging a bit on acceleration. And has low torque/power..

I was getting a code for the igniter which I resolved after replacing everything on the ignition side - igniter, coil, cap/rotor, plugs & wires. The drag effect is still there after changing out the ignition components. however I cured the complaint from the computer (engine light would come on at 65 or so MPH) with the resulting code for igniter problems. I've just had to do a timing belt/water pump job due to a the idler pully bearing going @ 161,000. While the timing belt/etc made the engine quiet, it didn't do anything for the drag.

I was thinking a vacuum leak, but have replaced the valve cover gaskets, PCV, etc. about a year ago.

Any chance this could be related to the EGR valve? Its a component that could cause some issues if it didn't close fully..

AmigoAZ -> now WA...

Have you replaced the fuel filter yet?

i advanced my timing 2 degrees and always use fuel injector cleaner and octane booster. downside for the timing is low end loss of power but it gains higher end power.

the yota technician said 'it will give you a lil more power on the low end' as he advanced my timing to 12-13.. although, this picked my truck right up, made it sound healthy again.
