3.0 valve cover/cam bearing oil leak
All right I did the search for rocker cover, vlave cover, oil leak and didn't find anything that wa helpful so I am turning to the yota gods for help.
I have a oil leak on the drivers side valve cover that appears to be coming form the valve cover just above the cam journal. Do these covers warp and then refuse to seal? If so does anyone have a good V/C to sell? I have replaced the gaskets, w/ and without gasket seal.

I guess on top of weak HG's and low power 3.0 have leaky valve covers too.
Good luck with the v/c change, btw, how much are new covers, is there an aftermarket dress up alternative??

Yes.. There is a plastic "cup" that is held in place by 2, 6mm bolts and a retaning ring. These are right at the back of the cam. You may be able to even get them off without o\pulling anything off, but it will be a chore. I do have a spare set of covers if you end up needing one, let me know. I don't know about warping covers.. They are very nicely designed. Drop me a PM if you want them.

I am familiar w/ the end caps and the retaining plate, I should not have to remove the cam journal, right? Just pull the cap from the rear after I take out the clip. What type of clip is it?
Thanks for the offer on the caps I'll let you know. I'm pretty certain that the leak is coming from the top of the journal, between the gasket and the metal of the journal. I'm going to try the v/c first. I was able to slow down the leak a little w/ some gasket maker and a new gasket. I wanted to let the truck sit for at least 10 hours after the repair but I had to move it. The sealant might have helped but was not set up enough to give a solid seal.
