31 was stock for me. I was getting about 20 on the highway with 4.56 and manual trans before. My new tires are equivelent to 32's and I'm down to 17 sometimes 18 on the highway.

when I got my truck in 2000 the guy had long trails on it and they were about a year and a half old but looked almost like new.. he put a lot of miles on it though so they prolly had around 20k on them then.
I drove another 15k on em before I got hit by a guy that was making a right on red, his bumper slashed the back tire which still would hold air but wasn't really safe.
They had a good bit of tread left then, but the insurance paid for all new wheels and two new tires. (the backs had the better tread cause they were just rotated) the fronts at around 1/4th left wanted to hydroplane easy, so a year later I got two more new ones.
the backs now have around 8k on em and the fronts around 4k. I was really sick for the past few years so haven't driven much.
anyway they are good tires and last a long time if rotated like they should be. I want to get some 32's in either an at or mt next though, so maybe I won't rotate these like I should

with the stock 31's, stock 4.88 gearing and an auto, i got around 12-14 around town and the same on the interstate. havn't yet gone a whole tank on my 32's so i'm interested to see what impact it has.

they fit great without any mods or lifting. like i noted in a different thread, the only time i've felt any rubbing at all is when i'm backing up and have the tires turned almost to max. so i basically just avoid locking them out and i'm fine.

Used to get 20mpg with Long Trails. But watch them...I threw one tread on the LT's and a second was beginning to separate. Watch for ANYTHING that looks like a cut or a split on the sidewalls. They are strictly a light-duty, highway tire.
Now get a pretty consistant 19mpg on BFG AT's, synthetic fluids in engine, tranny, transfer case, front & rear diffs, and a 2.25 cat-back Magnaflow.
