After fixing my speed sensor I wanted to know if its worth fixing up my 1993 2 wheel drive 4runner? Ive got $2300 what should i do? The only thing ive got so far is just a flowmaster 40" and my soundsystem (15" kicker solo baric L7).

sure, you can build it up. add a locker, some nice tires, maybe even a lift. that'll take ya much further than the average 2wd.
but if the wheelin bug bites you, you're gonna outgrow your 2wd quick and either a) want to do a 4wd conversion (costly and tedious) or b) buy a 4wd.

i noticed you are in socal... meaning land of the baja trucks...... 4x2 is fine... tons of places down there build up 4x2 trucks... if that is your thing...

I wheeled with Casey last week and that is a pretty cool 2wd. The best modification he did was making it 4wd.

Throwing money at a 2wd is a waste unless it is for prerunning. Even then, how good is a stock 22RE for high speed thrashing?

Yup. A 2wd will never keep up with a 4wd on the tough trails.

Rear locker and gearing is the closest thing you can do. I have the sad sad 2wd version 4runner. Im lifted, and soon to be loaded in the ear. At least thats gonna get me to the fishing spots. Like everyone else said your gonna out grow it. The amount of momney Im spending to do the rear locker and gears, I could have bought a cheap 4 wheel drive to be my weekend warrior. And keep my 2wd 4runner of coasting the town to pick up chicks. One good thing about 2wd, there is no CV problomes, so you cal lift the truck high.

i hate to say it but once u start modding the truck for off road you will NEVER be satisfied with the performance. 2WD off road is fun the first time you take it out with gears, even more fun the first time you take it out with the rear locker. but then once you have wheeled basically all you can with 2WD and reached your limits in only 3 wheeling trips, it becomes apparent that 4WD is just the only way to go.
I learned that the hard way, when i finally realized i needed 4WD i already had a butt-load of money in the runner. The only logical solution (to me) was to convert it, and it wasnt really all that hard.
