2WD Runner Owners - Shock Recommendation
97 2WD V6 123k
Currently has Monroe Sensatracs
Rides really bad rough, like in no suspension
I want something more compliant
Urban driving only
Anyone tried several different brands on their truck that can recommend
any of the below brands?
Bilsteins
KYB MonoMax
Tokico Trekmaster
Thanks for the help

i tried bilsteins and they didn't make a difference-your rear coils springs are weak, there is a campaign/recall for them throught toyota take it to the dealer and have them run the vin to see if it falls in the procedure,,if not your gonna have to replace the springs or get airbags that go inside the rear coils, this seems to be an issue with 4runners

Unless you can see the springs sagging in the rear I doubt the springs are the problem. I'd recommend the tokico's. There a stock shock replacement but just a little better. You'll be happy with them.

Thanks for the help, after reading some past shock threads and the reply here, I think I'm going to try the Tokicos.
The fronts look like struts, or are they shocks through coil springs (making for an easier install)?
Thanks
