2nd gen year?

hey guys, i'm looking for another rig, a 2nd gen, i don't know what year it is, which is what i want to know but i've seen one: stock wheels look like the precursors to tthe hree spoke of the 3rd gens, two large white reverse lights on the right and left of the license plate, none of those heinous, white decals on the rear quarter panels below the windows, the top back wing is black and solid, not cut out. any help would be appreciated, looking for one of these. i'm thinking 94 or 95? thanks, dd

You've probably seen a modified 2nd gen with third gen wheels and the pinstriping removed. All 2nd gens either had the steel rims or the alloy 4 spoke up to and including 95. All 2nd gens had the pinstriping although it did become a little more subtle in 95.

i think you're right about

the wheels, they might be 4 spoke, in terms of the graphics, i don't believe there are those fading away blocks, though there may be subtle pinstriping, so do you know what year it could be?

Anyone have a pic of the 95's pinstriping. The fading away blocks you are talking about were on the 4Runner until 94. If your 95 doesnt have the striping then it probably had been removed. I took mine off an you an hardly tell it was there. Or maybe when it was purchased it was special ordered with no pinstriping.

Dirk- If I put on 3rd gen rims my truck would look exactly as you are describing. It is a 95.

instntst has the truck

i'm looking for, your wheels are the kind i was thinking of, four spoke, but you can kinda see where they evolve into the 3rd gen stock alloys. i've seen a couple with the graphics removed then, i thought perhaps they came without the graphics, 95 it is, i shall look for one, thanks, you are the king. dd

Not sure exactly what you are looking for, here is a pic of my 95--

my 95

It has the pinstriping, but with the gold color it is pretty subtle

the top back wing is black and solid, not cut out.
If you're refering to the cut out for the brake light, then we're talking '90-'93 models.

Do you know if it says 'Toyota' on the grill or if it has the 'T' emblem?
'90-'91 have 'Toyota' on grill
'92-'95 have Toyota 'T' emblem on grill

Hope this helps.

pretty easy, it is a 92 if it has the newer composite headlights or a 90-91 with the old style glass sealed beams..
Yes, based on the third brake light.
