2nd Gen Steering Rebuild Kits

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...hippingPayment

Full rebuild kits for the IFS steering on 2nd Gen 4Runners for cheap! I think the Pitman arm and idler arm alone would probably cost about $200 and this complete set goes for about $250 and even has replacement upper and lower ball joints and frame mount for the idler arm

Just thought it's a good deal.

On a related topic, I've noticed that I have some rubbing occuring at full lock with my steering.

Apparently when I turn sharply and stuff the front suspension, the adjusting sleeve bolts tend to scrape slightly on my frame. Anyone have this same problem? I think I might live with it or maybe grind the frame down there because I don't want to limit my turning with the turn-stops

The only thing I can see that might fix this for real is get a pitman arm and idler arm that is about 1/4" shorter with a bit of a drop, but this would change the steering geometry...

Just curious

Cool! I changed all this stuff in my front end a little while ago and it still wanders fairly badly. I'm going to change the rag joint in the steering column next and then try to adjust the play in the steering box. I also think my a-arm bushings are going because I've got a little rattling going on there. I can't complain though. Nearly 200K miles on this truck!

Yeah I just replaced the bushings on my upper control arms, the bushings were cracked, and when I lifted the upper control arm you could see it move around at the bushings. They are expensive bastards (~$50 each for the front ones, $60 for the back), and I had a shop press them in, no way in hell to do it with a hammer, no matter how big

I'm thinking this will fix my alignment difficulties, if you push on my tire on either side you can see there is some play in the system (the ball joints everywhere are pretty much shot).
