2nd gen rear seats in a 1st gen

2nd gen rear seats in a 1st gen
Anyone know if 2nd gen rear seats will fit in a 1st gen? I need to get rear seats for my 1st gen, which originally did not come w/ rear seats (there's a factory panel where the seats go). It seems it's not easy finding 1st gen seats in good condition for a reasonable price, and there are a lot more 2nd gen seats available.
The other option I'm investigating other than getting 1st gen seats is getting landcruiser 80 or 100 3rd row seats and bolting down 4 pad eyes to the bed so the clips can fit in. I can't fit two of these seats side-by-side, as the LC is much wider than my 3rd gen.
