2nd Gen Fender Molding

When working on Nina's 95 Antenna, the fender molding (chrome with black rubber) came a bit loose. The clips are there but the plastic cover to the metal clips have deteriorated. They don't seem to fit into the back of the molding without the plastic part. While getting the mast from the dealership I inquired about the clips. According to the microfiche the clips are part of the molding and cannot be purchased independently.

Has anyone had experience with this problem?

Can I get the clips by themselves?

Is there a double faced tape, silicone or other solution?

Thanks in advance for the myriad of informed and coherent responses this post will spawn ...

What do these clips look like? Lowe's and HD have a lot of generic automotive clips. I got a local place that has tons of crap like that in stock...gimme a pic and some dimensions and I'll see what I can find, the more info the better.

They are only open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and going during the week is difficult, so if you can get me something tonight/the morning...I'll check tomorrow.

I gotcha.
If I don't get it to you it is no big deal. This is not a rush project. The 2" clear tape is holding everything together just fine for now...

Hey George! How many moldings do you need? If they are like the first gens I do have a few extra... Will wait for your pic

I guess what I am really asking is, Are the clips part of the molding or can they be handled separately. Pics to come at first light...

Here too! Took me a while to get the broken toe out of bed. Hobble out there and remove the moulding.

This is the moulding I am concerned about.

This is how the clips bolt to the fender

This is the side view of all the clips. I have all the clips, (there are 3 distinct shapes), what I don't have are the plastic pieces that attach to the ends and clip into the moulding.

Another view. The three clips on the left are the same pieces of metal. The one on the left is the only complete one I have. The second one has some of the plastic missing. The third is missing all the plastic as are the last two.

Different view of complete clip

This is how that clip meets the moulding.

If you can do something, Great!
If not that is fine too. I don't want you wasting your Saturday for the clips. Thanks Brian!

I got the pics printed out and I'm taking them with me...but that looks like a pretty vehicle specific part, but you can't ever tell...

I would think that a "helpful" dealer could find those for you...I've gotten just about every weird doo-dad and clip for my 85 w/ no problems.
