2nd gen exhaust question

2nd gen exhaust question
Is the exhaust pipe going into the muffler the same size (2.25") as going out on the 2nd gen? The reason I ask is that I am thinking of getting a flowmaster single inlet/dual outlet. If it is 2.25 in, then the dual outlet would be only 2" which wouldn't look very aggressive like it will sound. If I dont get the duals, what muffler would fit better, the offset or center? Also, would this just replace the old muffler or would I also need to replace the tailpipe leaving the muffler?

hey...I've got a 91 runner 3.0 with a flowmaster 50. It sounds really nice...I went with the 2.25 single in center to 2.25 single offset then just dumped it. I think the stock is 2.00, but could be a little off. I thought the 40 was way to loud and there's a 60 that's suppose to sound pretty good, but not be very loud at all. Sorry, for the ramble, but I'm super happy with my set up and I research for a long while. Let me know if you have any other questions

Mine had 2" pupe before the mufler and somthing smaller after the mufler. I now have full 2" pipe. I went with the magnaflow and I really like it. Not loud really, just sounds good. Generally you replace the pipe after the mufler when upgrading your system cus if it's not rusted out all ready it probably will be soon.
