well im getting ready to change my diff fluids and my tranny and transfer case fluids over to synthetic this weekend hopefully. i was looking through my owners manual for the wheights and viscosity of the fluids. it lists two types:
"Oil type
ADD
Toyota "Gear Oil Super" oil or hypogear oil API GL-5
Except ADD
Hypoid gear oil API GL-5
Recommended oil viscosity:
ADD
SAE 75W-90
Except ADD
Above -18 degrees C 0 degrees F
SAE 90
Below -18 Degrees
SAE 80W or 80W-90"

so my question is if i have manual locking hubs should i follow the "Except ADD" or does it not matter?

or can i just use the same gear oil that im going to be putting in my rear diff: API GL-5 SAE 90 that would save me a few bucks.

I have used Valvoline synthetic 75-90w when I had my add flanges, and I still use the same with my manual hubs--makes no difference.
