2nd Gen 4runner 4wd problem...

yo, i've just discovered an issue with the 'runner. We got our first decent (well, not really, but whatever...) snow in Calgary, so I threw er in 4wd just to play it safe, seeing as I havn't played in the snow since april or so. Anyways, when I do a left hand turn, the 4unner feels almost like something is binding up in the front driver's side. I haven't had an opportunity to actually throw it in 4wd for a while now, and it ran fine. anyways, wondering if you guys have any ideas...

Any noises or just a feeling of binding up? I would say if there are no noises, you probably are just getting too much traction on road to be in 4x4.

i cant quite recall if there were or not, and im kinda hitting myself for it. the thing is, it would only happen turning left. the tires are quite terrible though (which im in the process of gettin' done), so maybe it was just traction. there was a nice layer of snow on the road though. i dunno, ill go for a spin tonite and see if i can't replicate it.

If you want to wheel it down to my house I can take a quick look at it for ya tonight. Maybe we can convince our Valley ridge friend to come by as well. I live in Bowness, let me know

if it's just binding,i bet it's just that there's too much traction. the reason it probably shows up when turning left only is that generally left hand turns are much sharper than right hand ones. think about the path you take when you turn left (in town when the binding is going to be the worst). you're going a very short distance because the lane you turn into is the closest to where you started. but a right hand turn has to cross two other on-coming traffic lanes, so it's a wider turn.

edit: :pat: i'm dumb. i don't know my left from my right....right turns are generally sharper than left. so i don't have a good reason why you're only binding on one side.
