2nd gen 3 inch body lift: whos done it?

Im buying a body lift and some bigger tires and I think I want a 3inch body lift with the rest of the stuff Im getting. Its an auto so I know about the transfer case shift linkage and all that stuff but what I want to know is did you guys run into any problems and helpful hints or suggestions. Would you even recomend 3inches. The other stuff Im buying is in my Sig. Thanks.

how you would normally put a link to any other thing. click the http:// button where it says vB code and then type in a word, click ok, then type the link , then click ok. or, you could just directly paste the link in the reply..

My shift linkage for the transfer would not bolt back up after installing the transfer case spacer. I had to fab up an extension to connect the linkage and the arm. Other issues I had. The factory air box on a 2nd gen will not work once lifted three inches. I had to chop the bottom off and it is now an open air style box. Also UNHOOK the battery terminals or buy a new battery like me. I think we started at 7:30am and got done at 11am. Only one of us out of the three had ever done a three inch bod lift but never on a 2nd gen with an auto trans. I have a post with details but I cant find it. It was called The BigBadBlue Body Lift drama or something like that. I got mine from Roger Brown @ 4Crawler. He's a frikkin genious. I would recomend him to anyone for many different things. I think he has a mod for everything. He's very easy to deal with to. the transfercase linkage was my biggest hurdle though. I went without for a week or two until I fabbed up a piece to connect the two. Its tight shifting but works none the less. Questions?

I am six hours away but have been itching for reasons to go down there with my 4Runner. There is a shop called www.BigRocksOffroad.Com thats in Vancouver that I want to check out. Deffinently we should do the trails. We could get together with the 4ROC Oregon guys and see what playgrounds they go on. Blue
