2G guys with digi cameras (and time)
Well, i'm still sorting out my hose/ electrical assembly problem. I took a few more pictures of some loose ends I still have. I know it's hard to tell someone where a hose goes, but if any of you 2nd gen guys with a 3.0's have a digital camera and a few minutes of time, i'd really appreciate some help. (Or maybe a scanner and a tech manual).
The first picture shows the area on the passenger's side, on the intake manifold down low sort of. I don't know what hoses should be hooked to any of these 4 outlet tubes.
The next picture, it's sort of hard to tell what I'm pointing at. With my left hand (the hand on the left, i'm pointing at the hose with the hose clamp on it. It's a relatively thick hose... bout as thick as your thumb. And I'm worried it may carry coolant or something, so I didn't want to fill up the radiator yet. It just comes out there and ends just out of site where that other hose is in the way of the picture. It's like it connects to a metal pipe... which I'm not sure where it is located. If someone could tell me what connects here that would help.
Next up is another random connector. It's located on the wiring harness not far from the battery. Don't have any idea where it goes.
The last picture is a couple of hoses that are held together. I have no idea where they plug onto, but it's pretty obvious where they start. (that's up in the corner by the firewall on the passenger's side)
Please help a 2nd gen see the light of day again!!
Thanks guys.

I took some pics for you. Your second pic (the hoses) doesn't load so I don't know what that's about. Your last pic, the gray connector - I have one too, not hooked to anything. I also took a pic of the connectors that may be where your other one goes (from the previous thread.)

Okay, so can someone explain to me how to attach pics? I thought I did, they "uploaded" but didn't appear with the message....

Gonna try again. Files were too large...
By the way, that gray connector next to the battery is shown in a pic on the cover of my manual at connecting to those two cut wires you have in that picture in the other thread.

My99 - Did any of that help at all?
Bike4miles - Take tons of good close up pics first. I put a new powerhead in 2.4 liter Merc v6 outboard a few years ago that the 30 or so pics or so I took first saved my bacon...

I'm needing to find the starting position of these hoses also if at all possible, or some distinguishing mark to see how to pick out the correct hose. Here's the picture of the hoses i'm looking for...
Just so you can get your bearings and to further illustrate what i'm looking for, I kinda did an overall diagram. Also, notice the ? mark. I notice in your pic your truck didn't have a sensor on this EGR? device. This maybe why I can't find mine (this engine did not come in this truck, it came out of a rolled 90's model 4runner). So maybe originally my engine didn't have a sensor that plugged into this EGR device. I do not have any CE lights...
Thanks!
P.S. If you have full size pics that you think would help me, please e-mail them to me if you'd like and don't mind. E-mail is trbo1@aol.com

Sorry for the sizes. Look close at the numbers on the hoses. I did this not too long ago. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...ght=Shes+Alive

I'm drooling over your engine bay. I could eat off that. It's cleaner than my 99. Nice work, and thanks for the pics. I'll see if I can't make heads or tails out of these hoses now.

THanks for the help, that helped a lot! Could you tell me what number hose it is that hooks down low into the gold colored cylindrical thing below the hoses that has a nipple sticking out. I can't seem to find a hose that goes on there. Thanks!

Thanks for all the help everyone. I went out and fired her up again, and she still didn't idle. The only two hoses I don't have hooked up, are the two coming from the bottom of the power steering pump that I assume hook onto the plenum there as well. The hoses are so old that when I try to slide them on they just crack and fall apart, so they'll need to be replaced. However, i have these nipples capped, so they shouldn't be causing an idling problem I wouldn't think. I do hear a hiss sound down there, don't know if that's normal or not. I couldn't find any leaks on any of the hoses. I turned the little screw that is located on the throttle body and it at least idle's at 500 rpm now. Not the smoothest... but it does run. CAn anyone tell me what I should check or what it is that regulates the idle that I might not have done correctly?
THanks so much for all you guys' help, it worked great!
