Is $29754 a good deal for 2k4 4Runner 4x4 v6 Sport Ed.?

Greetings:

I am wondering if $29754 is a good deal, in NJ, for a 2004 4Runner 4x4 V6 Sport Edition with the following options:

1. Double decker cargo system
2. Power tilt & slide sunroof
3. Rear spoiler w/ Center high mounted stop light
4. 5 Pieces Carpet / Cargo mat set
5. Daytime running lights

Advance thanks for any insight thoughts.

If that were the price here in California, it would be gone in a matter of seconds. I hate day time running lights. It's just one more thing that has control over you. If you got the income, I would buy it, but I don't know if it's a good deal where you live.

Some info:

Check out kbb.com or edmunds.com.
Both sites will give you pretty good indication on what a great deal is

Personally, anything $500 over invoice is always a deal! (especially when it's right off the lot early on during the year model).

That price sounds like 800 over invoice (or just about). Still a good deal as the market is right about 1000 over.

ultimately it's only a few hundred bucks It's a great 4runner so I'd say any price is a good price as long as you feel that you didn't get ripped off.

Good luck on your new 4runner purchase

Sounds like a good deal to me. Is it one of the initial Sport Editions with all of the unpainted grey plastic? I know dealerships are doing anything they can to dump those, as they are no longer being built...everything is painted now, unless you request it not to be. As far as what you are getting for under 30K, that is one hell of a deal. Only downside is that the unpainted plastic clad models are not going to hold resale as well as the painted ones...kind of a mistake toyota knew they made. But if you plan on keeping it for a while, and are going to hit the woods, I think it is a great deal. You could always get it painted out at a later date anyway. Good luck.

great price I have done my homework

I have been looking for that exact model and options for the last 2 months. The best price I found was 30,100.00. I have a deposit on one without mats and cargo system. It has factory leather and heated seats, rare from the factory. I have the price looked in at 32,500 out the door.

I’m in VA so I can’t imagine prices being that different. Where are you in NJ?

All in all I would snag it.

you can hit up carmax's web page. They sell new cars too and publish they're selling price online. Its a good gauge of how much other dealerships in the area are going to be selling the same truck for.

Thank you all for your valuable advice and input.

Carmax doesn't show anything like the one I am looking for. They all are either 4 or 8 cyl.

fourunnabilly:
no the one I mention has painted fender flare same color as the car i.e. titanium metallic. No I don't do any woods or off road. I buy this for my wife. She doesn't know how to drive in snow. So I think with all the feature like trac, vsc, hac etc she would be able to drive on the snow, I hope.

Goodtime:
It's very difficult to compare. I take a look at kbb and edmund, the option package show differently. As a result I don't know if I compare apple with apple.

I don't really know the exact and real dealer invoice. I find the car at carsdirect.com with their info. So I can't be sure if they jack up the price to show their price was the lowest one.

I don't mind a few hundred box over the dealer invoice. Since the deal seem too good to be true. I am just afraid that I miss something and be ripped off somewhere.

Once again thank you all for help.

pwanghk-

My bad. I should have noticed that you said it was an 04'. Cause the unpainted plastic only occured in the 03's. After rereading everything inclued in the vehicle, I would not hesitate for a second. I paid $30,200 for my 03' with the appearance package, V-8, double decker cargo deal, and a few others...I can't remember. So personally, I think that will be a great deal for you. I can't remember if you said it has X-Reas or not...I think it must since it is a Sport Edition. Just wanted to give you a heads up that if you plan on lifting the vehicle, it may be a while before a kit is put that is X-Reas compatible. I assume that if you are buying this for your wife and don't intend to take it off road, this will not be an issue anyway. Again, I think it is a great buy. Wanna trade me hoods? I can assure you that you'll love her. This is the first "SUV" that I have owned, and enjoy it more and more everyday. Now go get her! Peace.

ok first off .. I don't think they make a 4 cyl 2004 4runner do they? I thought it was V6 or V8 only. secondly he paid 30,200 for a V8 and your paying 29.758 for a V6!! So for an extra $400 you get a little more UMPH out of the truck, and I don't know of any wife that wouldn't mind a little extra UMPH.
