265/70-17 spare on 4th generation 4Runner?

Has anyone mounted a 265/70-17 as a spare on their 4th generation 4Runner?

There is only about 1 3/4 inches of clearance with the stock spare and the 265/70-17 is at least an inch larger diameter than that.

Thanks for you help.

yes, you can fit a 265/70 spare. if it's tight, you can always air it down a bit to fit it in there.

Yes, I have a 265/70/17 spare on my v8. But mine is a 03. The 04 v8's had upgraded hitch receiver, which took away some space. You should be able to still squeeze it in though, but just check

Just make sure that the spare does not hit the pan hard rod (the diag bar that connects from the top of the frame-passenger side to the bottom of the axle-driver side)

Good luck
