24" Magnaflow is on!

Went down to the local muffler shop and had a 24" Magnaflow with 2.5 in/out put on. Sounds awesome! I'll try and get a sound clip soon. It's got a perfect low grumble to it at idle and not even close to that ricey sound. If you want a muffler thats not as loud as the 18" and just sounds a bit over stock get this muffler. Part number is #12286.

Well, I went to Wally World for a few things and took the interstate to test how loud it would be at about 60-75mph. I'm very pleased, its just what I was looking for. I tested it with the windows up. There is not really a drone sound to it at all in fact you can barely hear it. I will admit, my tires hum generously loud but you can still kinda hear it. It sounds good, really good. I didn't want the 18" because I wasn't looking for a huge notice over stock nor was I wanting to get even remotely close to the ricey sound. I'm very happy with the 24". I have a day off tomorrow so I hope to get a few decent sound clips. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd gear fly by, inside highway sound, and stand still rev.

The 24" has a little resonation at lower speeds but gets quieter up around 60-70. Like Elton said, it's nothing the radio can't drown out.

Thanks for posting!

Is the heat shield at the top of the photo cut? It looks like it has been cut for some reason... ?

Nice welds there.

Looking forward to the sound clip!!

Where are you guys finding these systems...I can only find 4th Gen on Magnaflows website...tracking down exhaust has been quite the challenge since URD stop carrying their system for the 3rd gen.

they are universal mufflers... they aren't a whole exhaust system. I listed a part number above for the 24". I don't know about the 18" I'm sure it's on this forum somewhere.
