22re question

are the actual blocks different on 22re's that were turbos??? I'm looking at a core to rebuild but they say it wont work because it was a turbo and mine isn't........... any input would be helpful. Thanks for your time..........TIM

the block is the same but the internals were not... the pistons and such were different

Didn't the turbo have differnt water jackets, or oil channels. Im not 100% sure, but thats what i heard.

the only thing i've ever heard is that there's an oil return hole in the side of the block. no different jackets, it's not that much harder to properly turbo a 22RE than it is a 22RTE. however, either way you're in for some work and and an empty wallet

I'm not trying to make it a turbo, I just want to rebuild a 22re but don't know if I can use the turbo block that I found to do so?!?!?!?

I don't see why you couldn't, you would just have to make a plate to cover up the turbo oil hole.
