22RE Knock Sensor
Im helping a friend swap a 22R in to an 87(?) 4Runner. It originally had the 22RE. We swapped all the fuel injection gear over and so far so good. I noticed that a sensor, it looks like the knock sensor (its by the oil filter) correct me if im wrong. I was wondering if anyone knows how i could bypass this sensor as it doesn't fit, by using a resistor or other means. Thanks in advance.

Ok where exactly "by the oil filter"? If looking at the oil filter thru the pass front wheel well, directly south of the oil filter is the Oil pressure sensor, south/west of the oil filter is the knock sensor location. I don't know of a way to bypass it though.

You need to enlarge the hole on the side of the block from a 10 x 1.25 to a 12 X 1.25 thread. This is a 27/64 drill size. If you use forged pistons use a existing hole lower in the block. You can refer to the LC engineering tech section for this also www.LCEngineering.com
