22r/22re swap running poorly

Did a 22re swap in my 83 pickup, put a ford fuel pump in as I had seen to do....Start's up and run's fine, allthough it cut's out when you give it more than a little bit of throttle...Also it is running straight header...Need help

Did you use a new computer for a 22re? Sounds like a computer/ air flow problem. Anyone else have any ideas?

You might also need to replace your air flow regulator. Not sure about that though.

I can tell you the problem right off the bat. It's that Ford fuel pump you're using. You see, at least they circled the problem for you. LOL!

Sounds like an airflow problem to me also. It idles fine, but when you rev it up it suddenly cuts out. Is the TPS adjusted properly? What about the intake tube leading from the AFM to the plenum. Any leaks there? What about the runners? Are all the connectors hooked up to the AFM properly?

I had a similar problem with mine (22R) a few months ago and it turned out to be a clogged fuel filter. Did you replace the fuel filter when you put in the new fuel pump?

I think it's not liking the open headers. You aren't getting an accurate signal to your O2 sensor like that. When I drove mine like that for a day I had to easy into the throttle or it wound stall.

We did a few thing's as in pulling of the intake tube and see if it would change, so we would know if there were leak's or not..I am using the 22re computer. I havn't checked the fuel filter or or tps, I will probably check that out...I am gonna get that exhaust done tomorrow...Thanks for all the input if you can think of anything else let me know...I will keep you guy's posted.

-Thanks
