22r to 22re?
So i have an 86 reg cab, ifs, etc. the 22r motor is tired (234k miles) still runs fairly well, but since it is my daily driver i would like a little more reliability and more power out of it.
Just wondering what all is involved if i were to get a 22RE motor, and what all i would need, (ecu, etc)
thanks a lot guys!
mikel.

the easiest way wold be to get everything from a donor truck, you have 2 choices on the wiring, you can splice into your existing harness or pull the entire harness out of your truck and replace it with the entire EFI harness, the 22re will bolt up just fine, and unless you want to swap gas tanks to use the in tank pump, you can use an in line fuel pump instead

I am helping a buddy (tlake) do it to his 87 now. He is converting his R to an RE. He is swapping tanks, AFM, filter housing, all the ducting, complete wire harness, ecu, etc.
