2004 auto tranny problem

Hello all. I did a bit of searching but couldn't find anyone with a similar problem as I. About six months ago I started to notice that, while driving down the highway, if I let of the throttle the RPMs would drop from around 2k to about 1k - 1.2k and then would jump back up to 2k once I applied gas again. I had the tranny fluid and filter changed right away but that didn't help. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Thanks for the help!

I really see no issue it is an automatic and this should be normal. If it was a manual then I would see an issue, really the rpms should drop to idle speed so yeah that is about right!!
