2001 4Runner Headlights - DDM Projector HID Retrofit
I just got done doing a projector headlight and HID retrofit into my 2001 4Runner and thought I would share my experience.
I used DDM's v3 projectors with GG shrouds
and Zenex ballasts with 4300K h1 bulbs.
The work was really easy.
1. Remove headlights
2. Heat up the glue with a heatgun and pry apart the headlight.
3. Remove the little light shield.
4. Install projector. (screws in with 1 nut)
5. Reheat glue and reassemble headlight
6. Plug in Ballasts and bulbs
7. Plug in pos and neg for bixenon shield into headlight harness
8. Reinstall headlights & aim them
9. ENJOY !!
Below are some pics of the results.
Thanks for letting me share!

hopefully, you can come back and answer this for me...
what else is needed?
can you please look at this:
shrouds: Mini GG
Centric Rings: No
Sealant: ?
Wiring Harness: H1 Low / H1 High <---- matches your amazon link?
Hex Nut: ?
the bottom of the order page states centric rings are needed will all but the Mini GG and C-Max... so, i won't order those.
thanks.

JAvendan:
I used the Mini GG shrouds.
I didn't need centric rings.
I ordered the sealant; but was able to remelt the stock sealant so I didn't use it.
However, due to shipping cost and time, I would buy it again, just in case.
I made my own wiring harness with a relay I already owned; but in hindsight I would order the harness for simplicity's sake.
I don't know what the hex nut is, just that I didn't order it.
My Amazon link is for the ballasts and bulbs. Those are needed in addition to the wiring harness.
The wiring harness is needed to enable high beams.
On the 4runner, when the high beams are activated, the low beams go off.
If the HID ballasts are powered from the low beams, then they loose power.
The wiring harness is supposed to fix this.
Basic shopping list:
From DDM Tuning:
Projector retrofit v3 projectors
GG shrouds
Wiring Harness
Sealant
From Amazon:
Zenex ballasts with 4300K h1 bulbs.
