2001 4runner Cold Air intake

Hi all. Havent been on the boards here much. Spend most of time at ih8mud talking about cruisers. Anyways whats available in the way of cold air intakes for 4runners. As you can tell from my name, I have the supercharger. I do not know if this restricts my options. Who makes the good ones and not so good ones.

thanks -nate-

Check out S&B. They have a semi-closed box design like Volant, but are much cheaper. There was a guy selling them on ebay for $180 shipped a while back.

$180 for the same whp that a hole in the airbox produces? If you got money to blow than go for it but a CAI is really just a looks mod on a 3rd gen when the deckplate with a good filter does the same thing.

$14 invested......ok,another $40 for a TrueFlow filter. Took about an hour.

I'll be doing accurate testing with the deckplate over the next several tankfuls as my driving habits change very little.
Right now with the bigger tires @35psi I'm getting and a little heavy on the gas I'm getting right about 17mpg.

You do get a bit of a growl but nothing like the "roar" from removing the fender mounted silencer on my friend's '00 Integra Type R.
It's really only noticeable under WOT and so far I seem to have a little more midrange but not really faster and 7whp isn't going to be noticeable.
