my sister has a 00 4runner and the floor on the drivers side gets wet when it rains. i dont know if it gets wet when it sits or when your driving but i wanna get it fixed before it starts raining. any ideas where itmight be comming from its mostly by the door. thanks

Check your drain and make sure there's no leafs built up blocking it causing the water to build up and drain where ever it can remember water follows the path of least resistance.

has the car ever been in a front end accident? Back when I had my jeep cherokee (notorious for leaky door seals) it would leak in through the top and bottom of the door seal. I couldn't even take it through a carwash or I'd be soaked with water. Check the seals around the door and the bottom as well. Also, the seal on the windshield might be bad and letting in water. Btw, are we talking about a heavy soak or just a little damp?

I agree with the previous posts.

Check to make sure that theres no dirt and other stuff built up in the drains. Also check the seals where the water is leaking from.

well, it is highly possible that because of the wreck it caused a misalignment in the door frame. Even if you can't see it and/or the door is fully functional, the slightest gap can cause a water leakage problem. Try eye balling the door against the door frame when it's shut and see if there are any gaps. I'm guessing it's more of a problem when it's parked than it is when you are driving.

yes im gonna see if the drains are clogged

im gonna do a water hose test on the door, windsheild and underneith too with the carpet pulled out. also i read on the sunroof to use a measuring cup on the sun roof when its opened put it in the drain and see.

Mine did the same thing and all it was was the sunroof drain holes were plugged. Cleaned and wetness went away.

Did you pull the carpet out? I had a problem where the dealer installed the factory alarm chirper wrong and water was getting in through the wiring harness doughnut. The water would trickle down the firewall under the carpet and would soak the under carpet padding.

no the car just has a remote to unlock and lock
